CATCH Kids Club

3:30-5:30pm, Monday-Friday through May. Implemented in community-based programs across North America, CATCH Kids Club has been designed for after school settings. Developed from the nationally recognized CATCH Program, healthy messages are reinforced beyond the school day via physical activity and nutrition education sessions. The program will not be held during school vacation. COST: $55/3 months. Keene Recreation Department, 312 Washington St. Children can ride the bus from school to the Rec. Center every day, check with the school to make arrangements.

Cheshire County Afterschool Network

CCAN was organized to help programs in the county share techniques and training, and possibly collaborate on some regional grants. The network meets on a regular basis and hosts a Lights On Afterschool! event every October. They can be contacted to find out about afterschool programs throughout Cheshire County.

Referrals to local child care providers, information on state licensing requirements, availability of child care subsidies, and other pertinent information. CCR&R provides guidance by phone, in person, and through the internet, tailored to each individual family. We also assist and support individuals interested in starting a home Family Child Care business.

The School-Age program is located at the Keene Recreation Center on Washington St. This program serves kindergarten through 5th graders before and after school, and full days when school is closed, including summer. Before School care opens at 6:45am. Breakfast is served, and a variety of activities are available. Children are transported to their schools by school bus. After school children are transported back to the Rec Center, where they receive a snack and then participate in the afternoon’s activities. The After School program closes at 5:30pm. The full day program runs from 6:45am–5:30pm. We are a Monadnock United Way agency.

2:30-5:30pm. Monday-Friday during the regular school year for grades 5-9. Award-winning program includes Homework Club and academic support. Fun, daily options include Cooking Club, community service, crafts, dance, wall climbing, outdoor games, bowling, photography, biking, swimming, computer lab, theatre, animal care and more. Sliding scale annual membership fee ($108 - $270/yr) with scholarships for qualifying families. Program is located across the street from the Keene Middle School, with bussing from the grammar schools in Keene.

6:30-8:50am and 2:50-6pm. This program invites K-6 students of Harrisville, Marlborough, and, now, Nelson to participate in our school-based program. Not only are students provided a fun and safe place to get involved in new activities, but staff members also work closely with classroom teachers to reinforce academic concepts, monitor social growth, promote healthy choices, provide leadership opportunities, and increase exposure to the natural world. Whether it is trying rock climbing or double dutch, chess or gardening, all students are sure to find a wonderful way to spend their out-of-school time hours! Daily fees apply; tuition assistance is available from both public and private sources.

The After School Program for grades children is a new program for children ages 6-10, held on the ConVal High School Campus in Peterborough, NH. The program will be lead by a Master of Elementary Education certified Waldorf teacher and will be supported by the staff and facilities of the Pine Hill Child Care Center. We are offering a program for children needing care before and after their kindergarten day as well as those joining in from first to fourth grade before and after school. We open at 7:00am and close at 5:30pm each day.

The Keene Extended Enrichment Program (KEEP) offers a safe, fun, enriching, and choice-filled environment from 3-5pm each school day. Our lead staff are certified teachers and children enjoy creative play, crafts, sports, cooking, homework help, presenters, and field trips. KEEP is open to children from all Keene elementary schools, K-5. We have openings at our Symonds and Daniels sites. Cost is $3.25/day, $5.25/ day, or $8.25/ day.

The Walpole Village School located on 75 Westminster Street in downtown Walpole has daily aftercare from 2:30-5:30pm.The cost is $5 per hour. Besides giving the children a safe, fun place to unwind after a long day at school, we offer enrichment classes during those same hours.

Winchester ACCESS

The Winchester ACCESS program is a 21st Century Community Learning Center that serves elementary and middle school students in grades K through 8th grade. The Elementary program (grades K-5) offers enrichment activities from 3-6pm daily that may include (but are not limited to) homework help, CATCH Kids Club, cooking fun, arts, crafts, science, martial arts, cub scouts, 4H Farm, photography, technology and service learning opportunities. An AM program is offered daily from 6:30-8:30am for early drop off before the school day begins. Pre-registration is required for all activities. Cost is $7/day for PM and $5/day for AM program.

The Middle School program (grades 6-8) runs from 3-4:30pm, and offers a variety of clubs that may include (but are not limited to) Homework Help, Drama, Yearbook, Computer, Game Room, and Crafting. Pre-registration is required for all clubs except Homework Help. Club dues may be collected. Scholarships are available for qualified applicants.
